c3 Lower Shift Boot Clips

Do the 2 clips on the lower shift boot just fit over the fiberglass tunnel or are they supposed to also clip over the metal frame on the underside of the tunnel? Assembly manual doesn't show clearly. Thanks

David call me at the shop 615-255-3939 are you talking about the p break wire clip? one clip is rivetted to the tunnel the other is screwed to the top of the boot?

They clip to the metal frame on the inside of the tunnel, exactly how I can't remember. There are no screws on that side of the boot, so these clips anchor the boot to that side of the inner frame. I just remember my frame was a little curled and I had to struggle to get the clips in the proper locations, then get inside the car and really force the lower boot toward the passenger side in order to get the screw holes to line up. I wish I could show you a picture, but I've already installed the insulation in the tunnel.
