The C 10 7 casting date marker on that head was attached with one flat head screw and one round head screw, so it was poured on second shift on the 10th at Saginaw - it couldn't have been trucked to Flint V-8, machined, assembled, and installed on an engine assembled on the 10th. If you absolutely MUST have a head that works with your engine assembly date, you'll need one dated earlier.
