    54 heater switch

    Im trying to figure out if my heater switch is salvagabe. Looks like the exterior resistor coil is exposed. Was this covered new or is it deteriorated. Would it still work? Anyone have a picture of a good one?? The rest of it is in good shape. Thanks folks!!

      Guy, mine was the same; the resistor's ceramic covering was burned off exposing the wire.

      I replaced mine with I think a 25 watt 1/2 ohm resistor that I got at radio shack. I remember having to try several ohm values until I got to the one that gave the fan motor about half speed from full on.
