    69 carpet replacement

Im working on my heater core replacement; I've got the seat and carpet out of the passenger side. What vendor are providing great carpet for NCRS judging?

    Thanks,

    Don

I was happy with the carpet I purchased for AL Knoch interiors.

I put ACC in my 69. Very happy with it. I think if I am not mistaken they were the original manufacturer of the carpet. Whatever one you get leave it out in the sun for a few days before install. Yom

I did acc carpet in my 72 the fit is great, I put Al Knock carpet in my frenids 68, we had to send the rear carpet back with the original so he could re-do. Both cars I did were blue , the colors of the repro.s don't match the originals, esp. the blues.

Who ever you go with here are a few things the judges look for.

Stitching size on the heel pad.

1969 had no pad over the dimmer switch.

Flap cuts on the seat forward mounting rails and bolts, rear rails are bolted over the carpet.

Rubber fasteners on the front firewall.

Michael's comments are good ones. In 1969, the binding should be on the floor piece under the seat. The vertical piece has a raw edge that tucks under. In addition, remember that no one makes the correct IMCO logo on the heel pad. Sometimes the original heel pad can be transferred to a new carpet. The JM has pretty good descriptions of this.
