    Bushings

Does anyone know of a source for rubber sway bar bushings? These would be for the "U" shaped clamps?
    All I see are polyurethane.

Long Island, 49-37, has them and believe most of the more detailed vendors do also. Also check GM. Try Paragon, Doc Rebuild, a few more.

        Todd----

GM #3923674 were the bushings used for your application in 1974 and those same bushings are still available today from GM for about 9 bucks each, GM list.

If you get these bushings you'll probably think they are "too big". They are NOT TOO BIG. These bushings MUST be compressed into the retainers and around the stabilizer bar. If this does not occur (as is the case with some smaller aftermarket/reproduction bushings which seem to "fit better"), the bushings will NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND AS-DESIGNED. So, use longer bolts to draw the retainers down, compressing the bushings into the retainers and around the bar. Then, remove the bolts one at a time and install the stock-length bolts (or, leave the longer bolts installed if you don't care about this element of "correctness").

          Attn:Joe

Would these work with 1" sway bars or is there a different P/N?

Looking for bushings for 70 Z28 Front. I know your expertise is in

Corvettes but for what they cost it might be worth the try.

They'll work for a 1" Corvette bar, but not a 1" Camaro bar. The GM bushing for the Camaro is discontinued. However, any of the following will work perfectly for a 1" Camaro bar:

            NAPA----NCP2651929

Joe, are 74 and 70 bushings the same part number? Of course if they are both for the 1" sway bar.

              Thanks

                  Joe:

                  FWIW:

After doing a little research I am told #404062 bushing was used for
1" sway bars on the Z28 and on some Chevy Trucks. It was used for
production only on the Camaros and was not a service part but may have
been for the trucks. Any Comments? and thanks for the help.

The GM #404062 was once available in SERVICE. In fact, it was available until about a few years ago. However, it was never cataloged by GM as a SERVICE part for any Camaro. The only applications I can find for it are some 73-78 trucks as some sort of rear bushing.

I suppose it's possible it was used in PRODUCTION for some Camaros. Is there a 1970 Camaro AIM that might shed some light on this?
