1960 Headlight Bezel

My 1960 restoration project came with bezels part number 3779239 chromed. My understanding is that this part number is for '61 and '62. The correct part number per AIM for 1960 is 3742509.

Are these basically the same parts except for the original chroming of the 1960 part number? Mine are fine, although the fit to the top fender molding isn't all that good. They could stand to be to be rechromed, so I am debating chasing a set of correct part numbers from ebay or elsewhere.

All 62's are painted.

If I remember right, the repros (& possibly later GM) were higher at the fender (where it meets the top molding) than the originals. Hopefully someone will confirm this. Don H.

Thanks to all, but my basic question was other than the '61/'62 bezel being painted and having a different part number, are them the same as the '58/'59/'60, i.e. the same casting just painted vs. chromed.

I don't know about the part numbers but the 61-62 parts are painted and have 2 small holes to mount the transition piece that was not on the 60 and back. The fit is notoriously bad.

Hi Don:
Yes, both part numbers are the same casting. I have a pair of each and neither fit worth a darn. Unfortunately, not much can be done to make the fit any better.
