    Jack------

I think the number is 2225032. If that's the actual number, then the master cylinder is either original or an original replacement.

If it's actually 2225052, then I don't know what it is.

By the way, these were a Bendix-manufactured master cylinder.

The cover was painted black as received from Bendix, but many owners removed the paint and shined them up when they found out what was under the paint.

          Meaning Copper.

So all these re pop lids in dichromate are wrong even though the big houses all say the dichromate was correct. I always though they were wrong, just there did not seem to be much faith in copper - even 30 years ago.

          Great notation.

What paint is used that won't be eaten up by the fluid?
