    327 300hp Compression Ratio

Hello all, I've misplaced my recent copy of The Restorer magazine that discussed compression ratios. Can someone tell me the recommended maximum compression ratio using premium pump gas on a stock '65 327-300hp.

    Thanks!

    Re: 327 300hp Compression Ratio

John, I don't have the article in front of me but my opinion for max static compression ratio is 9.75 on the 300hp engine.

If you use a compression ratio calculator using figures to achieve this 9.75 figure and use 59* for intake closing point, dynamic compression is approx 8.15 which is good for 300 hp engine.

I understand some here don't like stating dynamic compression ratio because it's not exact science. Trying to determine when the pressure in the cylinder starts building is difficult because of the intake valve closing point. I use 59* for the 300hp camshaft.
