    Re Yoke help

I took the yoke off to replace the seal. I noticed the shaft end is very sharp. I assume it has been rubbing metal on metal. Was their suppose to be a oil baffle washer in front off bearing ? I assume I will have to find a used Yoke. Thanks for any help 1964

There is no washer, oil baffle or otherwise, inboard of the flange.

      Wayne,
Why do you feel the yoke needs replacing? Unless the splines are loose on the pinion gear or the surface the seal rides on is grooved, I would think you could reuse that yoke. Or maybe I am missing something. Chip

Even if the yoke is groved on the seal surface, you can buy a C/R Speedi Sleeve and get a lot more use from this yoke.

Thanks. The question came up from the transmission shop . They were concerned that the end of the shaft was very sharp with a slight bur.
The spline is .052 above the worn part. I will look up the c/r speedy sleeve. The shop said their must have been a lot of load on it at one time. Taking the frame off I noticed that it was cut out for a big block at one time. Well I hope then that I can use it . Quite expensive to replace.
