    ?? frame straightening services ??

Hello everyone, I bought a frame for my '77 and although it is in near perfect condition, when I got home and started measuring it, I quickly realized it was not as perfect as I was told by the seller.(BUYER BEWARE) It was bent on the pass side A-arm and is out by 1/2" from measuring from the back to the front mounting holes. I could be wrong but with the minor damage I see, I think it needs to be put on a frame straightener?????? What do you think, am I overreacting? Who would be able to service a bare frame in the Belleville, Ontario region?

    Thank you, Mike Kelly 51244

I would have it put on a rack now while it easy and get it set up right. I good frame guy can get it all dialed in without much effort or expense and then you know everything will fit properly and the car will go down the road straight. Its a much better fix now than later when everything is bolted up and you pull all the gaps apart.

      Mike,

Can you eloborate on how you determined what you think is bent? Is this a bare frame or are the control arms installed?

Hi Kenny, I found a guy locally who will do it. I was just there and he did some quick calculations and determined it is off a bit, but he is going to set it up on the frame machine tomorrow and will call me to let me know how it turns out.

Hi Tracy, it is just the bare frame. I did some serious looking at it and saw a "minor" tear in the metal above the mounting bolt holes for the lower a-arm,upon further investigation I found the bolt holes did not match up to the one on the opposite side of the frame. I found a guy locally and he is going to put it on the frame machine tomorrow and let me know ho he makes out.
