Real 67' L-89s

Are there any "tells"to look for on correct 67 L-89 cars. I'm looking for anything besides the normal "IU" stamp. Any frame #s, markings etc.?

No they are just as the steel head 435's. If you don't have real paper work or known owner history you might wind up buying one of the 50 that are out there that are made up. I had looked at 2 real cars for customers in the 80's (one of which was the Ed Cole car) and other than documentation theres no telling it apart from a steel head 435.
What car are you looking at I know of several "made" cars.

There is one, basically unknown, that has not seen the light of day in over 30 years, sitting in the back corner of a garage buried under ever thing you could think of and then some I went with Burroughs in the early '80's. I did not get into the back corner to see the car, but Dave did and got to view the pad. He "bought" it as real. White/Red coupe

Steve is right on the money. Back in 86 I worked in a Corvette Shop in North Jersy and we had one of Reggies old cars. It was a 65 that was supposed to be a fuelie...well it was not. BUT then again he does have some of the rarest documented cars. I think that he like others back then bought what they thought were real cars but got duped.
I have no knowladge of this car other than seeing pictures of it on the net plus a few magazines.
I would just move forward with extra caution and get the right experts to check out the documentation and stampings.

A tour of Reggie's collection was part of the National Road Tour to the San Jose National Convention. Seems I remember seeing something like 2-4 pretty darn rare L89 cylinder heads, in original GM service pack, in the collection site's spare parts room...

Patrick, that is the former Otis Chandler car. I believe that it sold for 375K in 2005 at Mecum Bloomington Gold.

That's correct...my father and Jerry Luck owned it back in 1989......Luck found the block first....then my father tracked the car down.
