    C2 accelerator spring bracket finish?

What is the proper finish for the accelerator spring bracket on the intake for a 66 427/425?

The bracket was natural, unplated as installed. During the engine paint operation, the outer vertical surface would almost always have been oversprayed orange.

This assumes the aluminum 425 hp manifold was masked off.

How about the 390 HP bracket?

That motor was 'drenched' in orange...

            Ron,

I don't think we have to assume that the intake on a 425 HP was masked, or more accuretly, covered. We know it was.
Some areas of orange color on the manifold have definite break lines where the end of the mask would be. Other areas show a mist of orange color that crept under the mask in a mist coat.

For engines with cast iron intake manifolds, the spring bracket would have been installed prior to the paint operation so almost the entire bracket would be painted orange.

Thats been my observation on some survivors I have run into over the years.
