57 fuel unit

does any one know what it meant to have an "x" stamped into the end the fuel injection tag after the model number? The "x" appears to be added after the factory stamping? Like someone taking a chisel and making the Mark "x".

Hi Chris, Never saw a '4960X unit or tag. I have seen a
'4800X though. Came thru my shop long ago. JD
