    C1 lug nut markings

Can anyone tell me what identifying marks can be found on original C1 lug nuts? I'm wondering specifically about 1959, but any info on C1 lug nuts is of interest. I guess this counts most for Bloomington Gold judging, since the hubcaps are off...

    Ian -

Hubcaps/wheel covers are installed on the wheels for BG judging, just as they are for NCRS Flight Judging.

Oh ok. I thought they judged the wheels with the hubcaps off and in the trunk as when they rolled off the assembly line? I also heard you have to have the full set of key blanks, etc. In any event, does anyone know about the lug nut markings? I've seen ones that are represented as original with three triangles on the outer surface and a stamping on them

        Ian -

GM used half a million lug nuts every day, from many suppliers; I doubt if anyone could say which markings are allegedly "correct".

I've seen them a couple times. They have little triangles on the top at the 12, 4 & 8 o'clock positions. But if it doesn't matter, I won't waste any money on them.

              Ian--
I would concur with what you have found. The 62's I've been able to document as closely to indisputable as possible have those with the triangles.
