    '53-'57 Hood Hinges

Can anyone provide the center-to-center distances (pivot to pivot) for the upper and lower dogleg links on 53-57 hood hinges, please? Thanks in advance.

      Roy,

My hinges apparently were "reworked" at the factory to correct for a misaligned inner support panel. I know the links have been offset to compensate for the misalignment. I'd like to confirm the hole spacing in the two links to see if that is/is not correct before going any further to try to correct this. Any thoughts on how much good, unmolested hinges might bring on e-bay? Thanks for your help.

If you could post a pic? Good hinges not reworked are hard to locate because many people don't know how to adjust their hood correct , I would say $200.00 . I posted how to align a 53 to 57 hood if you can find in under (search) hood or hinges

Roy, I have your instructions but still have a problem. The inner support is not aligned with the hood opening, or to put it another way, with the outer skin all nice and tidy in the opening, the left rear latch pin is off by about 1/4 inch and the hinge links are bent (offset) about 1/4 inch to the right. If hinges are made correct, the hood won't close into the opening, so I'm considering splitting the outer skin from the support, making everything fit correctly then putting the skin back on. That's why I want to confirm the center-to-center dimensions to verify where I should be when I'm done. Lots of work to fix a factory condition.

          Thanks for your help.

                  Rod, A-C = 2 7/8", B-D = 3 9/16~5/8" (might be 19/32 but didn't use a caliper). Gary....
