In case anybody is interested in it's whereabouts, it's currently for sale at Legendary Motorworks. I am not affiliated what so ever with the car or the seller. I just happen to check the website and saw it there.

Re: 1957 Corvette Factory Big Brake/Airbox
I'm aware of the car but NOT aware of the "COPO" status for 6 of the cars. Perhaps it should be noted that no copies of such are mentioned in the materials offered.
The implication is that the "6" cars were specially equipped as a group; which were the other 5?- Top

I actually prefer it when it was red and unrestored.____________________

Re: 1957 Corvette Factory Big Brake/Airbox
An observation with a question---------------for those who are knowledgeable about suspension modifications to the early cars.
It is clearly obvious that the L/R lower A-frames have been swapped, which puts the stock sway bar brackets to the rear. Then, new sway bar brackets were welded to the (now) forward side of the A-frames, but they are spaced further outboard than the stock location for sway bar brackets. This of course makes a noticeable change in the angle of the sway bar bolts/spacers.
Now the question. Who is familiar with the effect on sway bar action/function with this change in the geometry of the attaching parts?
I've seen pictures of this car several times in the past, but for some reason I just never noticed this change to the sway bar.- Top
