    cast iron/natural finish?

As I've posted, in the process of replacing front springs/restoring a-arms/ball joints/etc. Some of the parts like the caliper brackets, lower control arms and springs are to be natural, has anyone painted them with any of the cast iron spray paints with any success (without getting dinged too much in judging)? I know Chris had mentioned doing his springs in a gray with good results. I'm going to have a buddy powder coat them clear satin but for 40 year old parts I figured they may look better with the cast iron paint instead of natural. Any ideas? Thanks again for any suggestions.

    HENRY-

Have you seen any parts that were coated with "Eastman" Cast Blast? I believe that product is a very good choice for pieces you spoke of. How it will judge, I personally can't say, but I have used their products in the past will great results. Check out their web-site if you haven't already. www.eastman.com

Since none of the parts that you mentioned are cast iron, you may find Eastwood's 'Detail Gray' finish more to your liking. I'd classify it's appearance somewhere in between that of freshly machined & 'natural' cold-rolled steel.

Here's a shot of my EGR valve after the replating was done. I used cast Blast on it's base.

Martin, Thank you for the reply about Eastman. I have a couple cans of the cast iron but not sure what brand of the top of my head. I will go to Eastman's site and see what they have. Your valve looks pretty good by the way.

Thanks Jeff for the suggestion on Eastman's Detail Gray. I wasn't sure what color would be closest. That may have been the one Chris referred to.

            It's Eastwood.....not Eastman.
