Can you assist me in finding where the ID number is on my engine?

engine cast number driver side on bell houseing on top, look between the firewall and valve cover, will be on bell housing. Engine stamp on the passanger side front of engine where head bolts to block. It should be clean of engine paint. both items easy to find with a good light.

There are three locations that will provide information you may like to know: The casting numbers is on the rear left side of the 327-CI block: # should be: 3782870. The casting date is on the right rear (passenger) side of the block. This date should end in a single year digit, 1 for blocks casted in 1961 and 2 for blocks casted in 1962. The third area is the block stamp pad. This is located on the right front of the block, just below the head. The information you will find is a VIN derivative and an assembly date with engine code suffix and machined broach marks. This code should start with an "F" for Flint (Saginaw) castings/Flint assembly and a month and day of assembly.
