    need help finding correct engine

    hello, i am a proud owner of my first vette. i need help finding a date coded engine for my 64 conv fuel injection car. i need everything.block,heads,complete fuel injection unit. mine is long gone. my car was born on oct 28,1963. this is all new to me and any help would be greatly appreciated. also...how close does the engine build date compare to car build date?

    Welcome Matt! I recommend you first purchase the Judging Manual for your car, available from the NCRS store at the top of the page, to assure you get the correct parts, dates, etc. An Assembly Manual is also a necessity. Once you have those look in and take a free ad in "The Driveline" for the parts you need and also in sources like Hemmings Motor News (you can search Corvette parts at Hemmings.com). Also join your local Chapter as these folks are always more than willing to assist. 'Careful when buying your parts as there are restamps out there, and be prepared to spend alot of money.

      thank you for pointing me in the right direction. i have always wanted a vette. my other cars are pontiacs and i know where to get parts for them. so the corvette is a new experience for me i am looking forward to. i am always open to suggestions. let's keep these american icons on the road!

        Matt,

        Welcome! NCRS allows a 6 month window predating your car's build date for date coded components. Ideally, 1-2 weeks is what most of us consider the sweet spot for drive train numbers.
