Calling all 56-57 experts to take a look

A friend John made me a where of a air cleaner on e-bay from (Jay's Corvette) that has TWO rings on the bottom area which others like a 55 and 56 don't have (see arrows) and I'm asking if you know of this difference and when it took place ! Late 56 or all 57's.
Thanks See I do have interest in other Corvettes and not just 55's.

Roy, have not seen a double line lid like the photo on any 57's early or late. Gary....

gary, look in nolan's restoration guide, page 128. his picture of a 56-57 air cleaner has a line going through the indentation.

We never got the word on Roy's question about the extra ring. This thing is over $1,000 now with 7 hours to go.

Rich and Roy, Jay even says it's not correct. Gary....
"Will fit '56 to '57 Vettes, will work for '55 Vettes, however, not 100% correct for NCRS judging."

from looking at various are cleaners i believe this ring could have occurred on any any year air cleaner. i have seen this ring on several air cleaners, including a 55.

Guys I don't believe there is any problem with this air cleaner. Original 56-57 air cleaner. The ring you see is a scratch made from spinning the air cleaner looking for the indent for the choke.
Attaching a few pictures with a different angle that will show this.

A few more pictures. These are of the air cleaner on my 57 5 star bowtie.
Not as easy to see but are still there. Nothing but scratches. No ring.

I am posting a few pictures for John Scopelite. He is having a problem posting pictures and asked me to post them for him.
Picture shows the same line on a 55 air cleaner. Also a picture showing the inside of a 55 air cleaner that he thought might be something we would like to see.

It all clear now.......just scratches. BTW it sold for $2,999.00!
