On a relayed note- Tiger Paws were used on '69's as well but were they available as red lines as well as white stripes? Thanks!

        Ed,
Have your findings been brought to the attention of the Team Leader(s) for their review and handling as appropriate in the next edition of the '70 - '72 TIM&JG? I understand that the Fourth Edition dated Year 2006 is the current edition. Thanks.

        Best regards,

            Interesting story---

            Little history-
1 owner 45K mile car. Spent 15+ years in a garage on blocks.
Honestly - car was a true Bowtie candidate - NOTHING touched at all.

            ======

So I get the car home 8 years ago -- start diggin around seeing what is what.
figured I drop the spare tire carrier, I look up and see the tape still in the front by the bolt.
drop it down and see a tire I have never seen before. There was the Uniroyal sitting in the tub.
I called Mr. Feeble (1st owner) up and asked if it was the factory spare, he says yep - car had a whole set of them from GM.

I had him send a notarized letter attesting to the originality of the spare tire.

It took me 4 years to find the other three road tires. They are all NOS tires (still have the green/red striped on the tread). The best thing, they are all dated in 1972 too. They came from the four corners of the US !!! I just recently found/purchased the 5th tire.
So for July, it will show with a full set.....

also - thanks for the compliment on the car

              Re: tires

hi Bill,It's pork chop.1ST SWEEET ride. How is the ride with the tires?. I was looking in Zip catalog at the tires $230 for goodyear and 172.95 for firestone little price?.but they have B.F. Goodrich classic radials 215/75/15 rwl,$77.95,I was wondering with the 454 would the 215 be good with the weight?

                Re: tires

the prices for the F70-15 tires are pretty correct.

                the radial equivalent is 215r70-15
not sure how the 215r75 will effect handling and speedo readings.
I think they will be to "skinny" looking on the car...
