Curious spare tire '66
My 1st post. Recently opened up spare container on a very original early #762 1966 convertible. Has a used non-dot blackwall Firestone tire. Appears well used and is a blackwall tire w/ letters of Firestone Super 500 on sidewall. Has a blackwall checkered flag line about 1'1/2 inch wide that circles the tire. No paperwork w/ car documenting that came w/ blackwalls, though a very original car w/ 65k miles. Unusual black/saddle car (leather) 300hp, original tan top still in place. All components still on car, as untouched even original shocks.
Therefore, ?? if tire was offered as original equipment or was the Deluxe Champion the only Firestone option tire that came w/ new cars.
