I was wondering if a National or Regional event will be held in the Chicagoland area anytime soon? Thanks in advance.

Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
Chapter in that area needs to step to the plate and submit a proposal for a Regional, and then a National can follow - doesn't happen over night - you have the National in Novi, MI coming upRick Aleshire

Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
Just add to Rick's comments, the NCRS BOD will select the site of the 2013 National Convention and the sites of the 2012 Regionals at their meeting on March 20 at their meeting in Concord NC. If it follow true to form, the National Convention will be somewhere on the East Coast, followed by the Mid-West in 2014, and West Coast in 2015. Sounds like a long time in advance, but when you are putting on one of these events time flies

Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
Terry, I wonder if NCRS would be opposed to hosting a Regional in conjunction with another indoor car event? This would reduce costs and give the NCRS added exposure which would be good for the organization.- Top

Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
Steve, we did a Regional at Carlisle, and other venues have been proposed , but were turned down.
I think that each case would be reviewed for it's merits, and possibly, properly presented, could work.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
Joel, I do not have the authority to get this in motion. I do know the managing director of the Musclecar/Corvette Nationals and I can see if there is an interest in having a Regional there. The problem is that they have their own judging system and awards for Corvettes so it would be a conflict of interest for them.- Top

At Carlisle, NCCC was also judging cars. It was up to the owner to decide which way to go. Both had their separate registration systemsJoel, I do not have the authority to get this in motion. Re: Chicagoland National/Regional
I have worked with Bob Ashton for a while. I suspect the hurdle with teaming up with that event would be space allocation. They pretty much fill the Stevens Center in Rosemont, so there is no incentive on their part to have more cars at their event.Joel, I do not have the authority to get this in motion. All you need to do to get the authority you want/need is the two steps in the last paragraph of my post of 10:28 AM.Terry- Top
