Please explain the road to a DUNTOV?

I have read my judging reference manual(#6) and I am not sure?
    1) Car must be judged at any event, chapter, regional, national, can recieve any flight.
    2) it is now eligible for a PV test, at a national or regional. If it passes,
    3) it can be judged at a national, recieves a 97% or better and the car can recieve the Duntov Award at the same event.
My question is #3 after it recieves 97% or better at the national can the car get the duntov at the same event or must the car attend another event?

Bill, The car receives the "Duntov" award AT the National that it receives the 97 or above (without driven milage points) It has to be accepted for "Duntov" Judging for the National. This means you have to pass all the requirements first. Judging & PV.

      William, basic requirements are

Receive 97% or better at a Regional or National Event

      Pass PV

Receive 97% at the National to receive your Dunton.

      Requires 3 events

97% is raw score, no mileage points, no rounding up

The first two events (bold) can be in either order if you wish. In fact, some people advocate getting the PV out of the way first, as once you pass it, your 3 year "clock" then starts to complete the quest. It's easier to get two 97s in 3 years than to try to pass a PV. However, it would add an event to the list to have it judged at "an" event to qualify for a PV.

Is it 4 meets or 3 meets to achive the award? read my 1,2,and 3. My real question is can the final juding to recieve the duntov be at the national where it recieves a 97% raw score or would it have to go back to the national again to just recieve the duntov award?
Can the duntov award be given at the national the 1st time the car ever recieves a 97% raw score?

              From the book

This award was created by the National Corvette Restorers Society in 1985, in honor of Mr. Zora Arkus-Duntov, long-time Chief Engineer for the Chevrolet Corvette, who retired from General Motors in 1975. The Duntov Award recognizes individuals for the restoration and preservation of 1953 -1974 Corvettes. To achieve this coveted award, an owner must attain a judging score of at least 97% out of 100 % based on an original "as manufactured" standard at a National or Regional NCRS event; as well as present the car for a rigorous performance test of all vehicle mechanical components and functions, all of which must operate as those of a new car, without a single failure. Finally, the car must again score at least 97%, at a National NCRS Convention, to receive the Duntov Award. The process of achieving the Duntov Award requires attendance at a minimum of three events, and must be completed within a three year period. As of the end of the 2007 season, only 770 Corvettes have achieved the Duntov Mark of Excellence.

Thanks Rick, that is the way I read the manual.
                1, chapter meet any flight
2, pass PV at a regional or national
3, at a national recieve 97% raw score and recieve the duntov at the same time

                  Bill -

Nope. You need to score at least 97.0 (no mileage points) at a Regional Meet or National Convention; a Chapter Meet award doesn't meet the requirement. See page 30, item 2A.

                  Then P.V.

Then at least 97.0 at the National for the Duntov.

The car MUST receive a 97% at a Regional or National, before it is elligible to be judged for the Duntov, which it also must receive at least a 97% raw score

Re: Please explain the road to a DUNTOV?

I think my confusion is it can be presented for pv with only a chapter flight award. But after that it must recieve a 97% at a regional or national, then it can be taken to a national to be juged at 97% or better to recieve the duntov.
The way I read is PV at a regional can be done 1st(after the chapter flight) because it is the most failed.

That's correct - a Chapter flight award fulfills the prerequisite for the P.V., but the rest of the ladder requires minimum net 97.0's at a Regional or National, followed by another at the National.
