I have a battery heat shield for my '67 L71 I need to install now that I have the proper Delco battery. The judging manual says it just sits with a lip under the battery, but my assembly manual doesn't show it at all. In playing around with various fits, it looks like it does just sit with the lip under it with no bolts or screws to attach it to the battery tray. Does that sound right? Thanks.

That's correct. The shield just sits in the tray, and the battery sits on the folded bottom flanges on the shield; there are no mechanical attachments or fasteners.- Top
