    Tow Bracket

I guess I might run into trouble, should my '77 ever need to get towed... Main problem would be the spoiler lip to be damaged when using the lower a-arm as towing point (aside from strain and possible de-alingment of the steering geometry).

From the German corvetteforum, I got a hint how to build a bracket to overcome that.

First, I wanted to share that idea with you.

Second, I wonder what that screw, where the bracket would go, attaches to... Any input?

Third, does that area appear to be a good towing point?
The one who built that for his car is fully convinced.

    Thanks

    Re: Tow Bracket

Here's the layout of the bracket and measurements (in centimeters)...

Now, what do you think? I kind of like his approach but do not know much about the area that bracket attaches to (in emergencies only, that is - usually the bracket is off)...

      Re: Tow Bracket

It looks to me that the bracket is bolted to a point that is bolted to the frame horns. If for some reason it would shift under pressure their could be more damage than a spoiler.

Oh-kay... I also wanted to check back against the AIM - if I can find out what that (stock) screw bolts into. There sure is something that needs getting bolted together there...

        Any other input?
