    engine parts

Hey everyone, greetings from alaska! The other night I was reading the forum and someone mentioned a place called fernwood auto. I tried to get on their website but it was asking for a login and it seemed like you had to be a business to buy from them. Has anyone bought from them and if so how?

There is a Fernwood Auto Parts store in Rochester, NY. I can't believe that is what you are looking for, but they do supply a lot of engine parts for rebuilders. I think that is their specialty. -Dan-

Thanks guys . The poster that mentioned them said that they were one of the few places that you could still get parts made in the U.S.A., I am just now starting to search for all the engine parts for my 59 270 HP and since I don't have anything yet everyones help will be greatly appreciated.

What you should concentrate on is manufacturers and their brand names. Federal Mogul and Dana Corp. manufacture virtually any OE replacement part you will need, and the F-M Sealed Power and Speed Pro brands are sold by NAPA. Check their website for the online catalog.

Dana's primary engine parts brand is Clevite. A little googling will get you to their online catalog.

Once you find the brand/part numbers you need, it's just a matter of finding a convenient retail outlet. Most major parts chains carry these brands.

Don't get hung up on "made in the USA". The auto parts business is globalized. All you should be concerned with is that the parts meet OE spec, and the above manufacturers and brands meet that criterion regardless of where they are manufactured.
