69 Front Upper Control Arm Shims

I removed this shim (see attached photos) from my 69 Corvette. Can anyone tell me if this is an original shim for my car?

The 68-69 TIM & JG (p. 89) shows a sketch of a shim with S.A.L. written in very small letters above the the flat edge of the shim. What is the significance of these letters as shown in the 68-69 TIM & JG?
    Thanks
    Wes

Shims stamped with the logo in your picture were definitely used in 1969. However, that does not mean these were the ONLY ones used for 1969. These same shims were used for many other GM vehicles of the period and were undoubtedly being used by the MILLIONS. So, I expect that there was more than one supplier and, therefore, more than one manufacturer's ID stamping.

That shim, with that logo, is the most used alignment shim at least in the in the 1968 to 1973 period of cars that I am most familiar with. Some shims may not have a stamp on them at all but most do. There is also another manufacturer's stamp that is not as widely used. I think that its "FNG" or something similar. Regardless of wether it is stamped or not, all shims should be of exactly that shape.
The S.A.L. marking above the drawing in the JG, I believe, are the initials of the person who supplied the drawing.

Absolutely correct Sal, and as you know that was not you. They are Scott A Lindee's initials.
