What is the safe bore limit on a 1966 427 - 942 block?

    Re: 942 Bore limit

.060 is generally considered safe, although with the use of sonic testers by many machine shops today a block can be evaluated individually as to suitability beyond that size. I also had one bored and sleeved in all 8 holes to get it back to std bore, so there are options...

Pete best advice, make sure you use a professional machine shop. They know if the block has a good core shift and have little tricks, like shimming the boring bar over to clean the side of the cylinder that has the rust or pits, damage etc. Phil 8063
