    64 fuel injection engine

would it be at all acceptable to place an engine in your car if it was built 1 month later than your car build date? i know ideally it would be best to have an engine built prior to your car being built. i just thought i would throw that question out there. i am having a hard time finding the correct engine for my early 64 fuelie car. thank you all in advance for any advice that is given.
    take care,
    matt

    Matt,
It depends on what you intend to do with the car. If you plan to have the car judged it would take a hit. NCRS allows a six month window (casting date) prior to the date of car assembly. If it won't be judged do whatever you like, it is your car. Good luck, Don H.

      Hi Matt !

It was good talking to you yesterday !!! It would be acceptable to put this engine in your car. It would just be incorrect as far as judging goes. ( Datewise )

Like we talked yesterday, it is your car and it sounds like you are building it for a fun driver and enjoyment. You know the original engine is gone and will never return. You have the opportunity to buy a real engine with it's original injection unit. Complete with everything you need. I'd do it !!!

Again it was nice to meet you ! Glad you decided to join the NCRS !!! Give me a call anytime you are in the area again. See you in may for our show !!

        Matt,

Plus, If you ever found a block dated for your car chances are many of the parts on that engine will be correctly dated for your new engine if the block is only one month too late.

Also, If you found a complete engine like you have here, you will not have any problem selling the spare..I would go for it also...
