    1970 Carburator Mounting

In the Judging Manual for a 1970 it says that the carburator is mounted with 4 bolts. In the AIM it says that the rear of the carburator should have studs. Which is correct?

I assUme you are referring to a Rochester Q-Jet. There was recently a thread on here in which this issue was addressed, and as I remember the answer depends on the year you are asking about -- so it may be in your best interest to share that information with us.

I am not sure that the thread to which I am referring started out discussing the method of fastening the Rochester carburetor so searching may be difficult. It may be better to hope that those who commented on this will see your post and again contribute their wisdom.

My original owner 70 came with two studs and two bolts. Studs/nuts on rear carb mounting and two bolts at the front.

              Hi Les,
Just a note about my 71... 2 long bolts with washers, 2 studs with nuts and washers, and the nuts are quite THIN compared to a typical nut.
              Regards,
              Alan
