I need this bracket that mounts the front of the differential to the frame. Are the 1968-1972 all the same? Thanks and regards...joe

Re: I am looking for a differential mounting bracket
1969 through 1979 brackets are the same. These years used the GM #3921657 which is the bracket that has rectangular reinforcement plates welded to both sides of the bracket and through which the mounting holes are drilled. This bracket also SERVICES all 1963-68.
1968 used bracket GM #3868799, although it's very possible that later 1968 used the above-referenced bracket. If so, I do not know when the change was made. In any event, the 3868799 bracket lacks the rectangular reinforcement plates and, instead, has only washers welded to the sides of the FORWARD bracket-to-carrier mounting holes.
From a FUNCTIONAL perspective, the 3921657 is superior to all others and is the best part to use for any 63-82 Corvette. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Joe------
There is no part number stamped on these brackets. However, visual identification is pretty easy.
When looking for any of these brackets, and especially the 63-E65 and L65-68, always check the holes on the sides for elongation. This is a common problem with the early brackets and can even effect the 69-79 bracket. You don't want one with elongated holes.

Joe L. -- my '68 and '69 P&A30's show the '899' as service for '63-68 (exc. Turbo Hydramatic), with the '657' for '68 with T.H. and all '69's. Both part #'s were still available in service for applications just mentioned, as of my Jan '70 P&A30B.- Top

Another visual check is not to buy one with the bottom lip that continues around the front of the bracket; the C3 (?) ones have the lip removed for the 180 degrees at the nose portion. If you're on eBay, this is a quick visual reference, as sometimes the posted photo quality does not allow identification of the washers or bracket that Joe L. mentions.

Yes, the 3921657 was used for 1968 with THM-400. I'd forgotten about that. It may also have been used for both manual and automatic late in the 68 model year.
The 3921657 bracket was discontinued without supercession in August, 1993.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
