C1 Windshield End Rain Gutter

The '61 Judging Manual indicates the rain gutters at the end of the windshield were installed prior to body painting. I understand that the rain gutters are painted body color. I have seen cars where the phillips head screws attaching the rain gutter are not painted.

I am looking for confirmation that the screws attaching the rain gutter should be painted.

All of them I've seen are painted, but could have been painted over in a repaint. I can't imagine in the plant they would have installed the gutters with screws, painted them installed, then switched to unpainted screws! Course, I've been wrong before.

Absolutely should be painted--61 earlier cars had a different style screw than later 61's and 62's. The repros for the later screws are close, but no cigar.

I have a June '61 car and just purchased reproduction screws. Before I have them painted, what should they look like?
