I noticed i have a rounded inlet and outlet with a vin #5277. The jm is saying sqaure after 3200 car? Would a person recieve a deduct in this situation?

yes, but it'd be a minor one. check the mounting bracket(underside) for evidence of manufacturer's logo stamping(which repos usually lack). advertise in Driveline that you'd like to trade the round version for the squared critter.good luck,mike- Top

Attached are pictures of the "B" marking on the bracket and of the weep hole.
Don't forgrt the B & H bolts holding the canister to the bracket.- Top

Chris, Note that Bruces nice photos has the B logo as mentioned. Also note the location of the logo. On a typical repro for some unknown reason the "B" logo is at the opposite end of the bracket.

John, both are original brackets. One was on my '57 when I bought it in 1978 and the other came with a complete 250 HP engine bought in 1982. Don't think John Smith was reproducing the brackets then. The "B" is about 1" off of the center bend. The one I replated lost most of it's "B". Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter
