    Finally got a C2 !

    After a long wait I finally bought a C2. It is a roadster pretty well loaded except power brakes. What I really wanted was a coupe but after years of trying to find one I gave in and bought this roadster. It has 65k original miles with all original interior except the carpet. It had 1 repaint and is something for me to work on.It needs work and I will need help. I have ordered the books I think I need from the NCRS store, but I am sure everything is not in there. Now watch the perfect coupe will come along. Oh well I will give this one to my wife if that happens. Tom Stanton #41491

          Tom;

          Congratulations on your new purchase. I agree with Tracy - where is the year and details about it? We're anxious to hear about your good fortune. I think after you've had the convert for awhile you'll appreciate it more. I test drove early 63 coupes and didn't care for their poor ventilation. Chose to order the vert and never looked back. Can't visualize a reason to have a midyear with A/C either, even in my old age. When I want to go for a fun ride, along with the power and sound, ya got to topless! Then too, you already have a swell long haul cruiser. They will serve to complement each other, you'll see. Different set of wheels for different moods.

            Tom

            Congrats on your purchase. I look forward to seeing pictures. I, too, held out for a coupe but gave up when I found my current roadster. As it turns out, I'm glad I did. I have found I enjoy it more than my C5 coupe. Enjoy.

              Congratulations, Tom!
              For me, I was torn between the two. I loved the looks of the coupe, as well as their more comfortable highway cruising, ...yet loved a convertible for fall & spring car cruise nights. I drive my cars immediately after completing the restorations.
              Fate directed me to my own barn find '67 convertible, and I couldn't be happier now that I wound up with a convertible.

              Post a pic or two when you can.

                Congrats, I also obviously think a C2 coupe is the way to go, but a roadster is nice too. Heck, if I had garage space I would get a roaster to go with my two coupes. Good luck on the work, it is great fun, except when you finish and want to start a new project all over again. I too would like to hear details of your new baby.

                  Congratulations Tom.

                  The same thing happened to me when I bought mine 30 years ago. I wanted a coupe, couldn't find the right one and ended up with a '67 convertible.

                  Now my goal is to drive the car and never put the roof up!

                    Come on Tom,
                    You are keeping us at bay! Please disclose the vital statistics of your new ride. I would love a pic. We do not care what condition the paint etc may be in.

                      Re: Finally got a C2 !

                      Thanks for all the response. The car is Ermine white with red interior and a white top. I believe the top and interior to be all original except for new carpet. It is a powerglide and a 250hp car.Sounds good but not much punch. I also have the hardtop with it. That is primered and in need of a new headliner and paint. I don't know how much I will use that but I will restore it anyway. I will try to post pics when I can get my wife to do it. I will keep you posted. Tom

                            Congrats Tom, you'll find that C-2s pull a lot of heat up through the floorboard. You'll be glad to have the convertible on long drives.

                            Mark, before my restoration, the top had not been up on my convertible in over 15 years. I tried to stay out of the rain, but even when I got caught in storms, I just stayed over 35 mph until I could get home.
