Machinist Magazine tested various penetrants for outbreak torque on "scientifically rusted" nuts. with no penetrant, avg load of 515, with WD 40 an avg load of 238. with Pb Blaster, 214. with liquid wrench, 127. with Kroil, 106. The article then took equal quantities of Acetone and ATF and the Avg load was only 53. The acetone/ATF brew is considerably cheaper than the Kroil. mike

Guys, My years of dealership experience I found that the old GM heat riser pent. was the best stuff I ever used on rusted nuts and bolts, it may still be avaliable.being in the auto trade for 38 yrs. dickie: after applying the brew, if the nut won't come off, git out yer torch before the acetone evaporates. resulting fire may clean-shave ya fer once in yer life. mikie- Top

Tried that about 30 years ago Doc Q. Lacquer thinner pouring over the side of my face and a torch in my hand. Shaved one time since then.Dick Whittington- Top
