Just a point....
About 15 years ago before driving our `62 to the Steamboat Springs National Convention I had it alighned. Their bad job wore out a set of tires.
When I put new tires on I had it alighned at a different shop. I took the service manual and let them use it for information.
We think the first shop did not know how the front end adjustments really worked.

You are 100% on the money!
It is becoming increasingly more difficult to find an alignment shop that KNOWS the frontend characteristics of older cars (and not just Chevys). MOST alignment shops now have computerized equipment and the younger whipper snappers don't have a clue about any of the "old timer" alignment tricks. As an example, shimming between the REAR of the lower-inner A-frame shaft and bottom of the cross member to add some caster (that's NOT in the books).

After a few miles on the road I went back to the alignment shop and they readjusted again. Here are the current settings:

Seems to go down the road okay. Any thoughts?
