    Headlight preservation

While searching the archives for headlight motor articles, I came across one that decoded T-3 headlight bulbs. I checked mine and they are the original, correctly dated bulbs that still work. I remember reading an article years ago about adding silicone sealer, or something similar, around the posts to keep it from loosing the vacuum. I can't find that article anywhere.
Does anyone know the specific of trying to save these old bulbs?

    Thanks, Jim

Jim I remember the same Thread you do about the silicone sealer. Since I have a large assortment of T-3's I did put silicone on the posts of all my sealed beams to keep them sealed. If T-3's did not help find the Thread try the search word silicone sealer.
