        I have take calipers apart to hone the cylinders (pre-stainless) and never had a problem with the re-assembly. But if they will get hot enough from use, why not?

        I hope you didn't hone them very much. GM never recommended honing these and I have found that honing caliper bores almost always ends up with a leak from the honed bore.

            I honed them with a brake hone so the stones were very non-aggressive. I did it as part of a rebuild to try to correct a leaking piston. It helped for a little while, but they were never quite as good as new, hence the eventual replacement with the stainless steel sleeved version. Now I am contemplating moving to the newer seal/piston technology
