    1969 Turn Signal Flasher

After reading the very interesting post on flashers, I decided to check my 1969. The flasher, located under the map pocket, in a spring steel clip, was a Tung-Sol 224 with a date of 1 7 9 and was as described. The exception was that this flasher had a large paper condensor? wired into the flasher.

This was not mentioned in the post and I was jsut curious?

    Thanks for any information.

    Steve:
The picture below shows the 3 parts you are referring to from a '69. The flasher is dated 4th week of '69 (049). It does not have the DOT on the top. The capacitor and flasher are seperated by a paper insulator. Hope this helps.

The capacitor with its fiche paper insulator is part of the car's radio option. You'll find it called out in the back section of your copy of the AIM as part of the U-69 option...
