Hi guys my throwout squeals when cold starting after pushing the clutch petal to the floor then after a few minutes goes away, when leaving the garage it might make a couple more squeals when using reverse to forward again. seams to be getting a little worse on cold starts as time and miles on the car go on ,any thoughts. 65 327/365 cr trans centerforse clutch and TO bearing.

Re: Throwout bearing squealing
Your squeal may not be the throwout bearing, but the pilot bushing in the rear of the crankshaft.
A simple test: Engine running; with the trans in neutral and clutch depressed will it squeal? No? Then the pilot bushing is dry. Place trans in gear with clutch depressed does it squeal? Yes? Still dry pilot.
Reasoning: Input shaft of trans can turn with clutch depressed so that the bushing friction is driving the shaft reducing/eliminating squeal. If you place in gear, input shaft cannot turn with clutch depressed (assume car is stopped) and friction in dry bushing produces squeal.
In either case, throwout bearing or bushing, to repair you need to remove transmission.OR turn up the volume on the radio!
