55 hood support

I have been able to locate a correct hood support with ternstedt markings for my 55 corvette. I am looking for someone who could re-plate it for me. My big concern is taking it apart. Where can I find the correct rivets to reassemble it? Is there someone out there who restores these? I don't want to ruin it.

Have it cad plated in the open position

I agree with Roy. No need to take it apart for cad plating. The spring washer was black oxide. That will turn out cad but you can blacken it to get the look.

Did all 55 hood supports have those markings? I've seen a number of them on 54's and 55's without.
