    Unwanted messages

    Would someone explain to me why, when I receive a private message that I don't want - why isn't there an IMMEDIATE "DELETE MESSAGE" function available?

    Loren;

    I believe you can delete a private message without looking at it. I know you can delete it after you have looked at it.

      Loren, when you go to yer private messages, you will see a block to the right of the message. Click on the box then go down to the botton and you will see a box that gives you options. Select delete and click go. Any away they go

        Loren - I am a newby so potentially a stupid question, but what kind of PM's are you receiving that you want to delete immediately? I mean - all PM's that I get are from members (so no viagra spam) in need for something/looking for input/require more input after one of my posts etc.

          Re: Unwanted messages

          When you click on a posting member's name, a drop-down box appears allowing you to either 'email' him or 'private email' him.

          The difference is a direct email goes to him as an ordinary message with your reply-to address showing. That allows you to carry on an off-board discussion directly.

          If you send a 'private email', your email address is NOT provided and all subsequent conversations are conducted via NCRS DB store & forward. That precludes you from using 'advanced' email techniques like attaching files, embedding objects, Etc. Only text is allowed...

          Each DB user can configure their account to accept/deny the various email options. There are pro and con issues associated with each form of off-board communication...
