        Ray - I always love it when we learn new things. My first though was that even though the other owners of my car (S/N 1476) didn't whale on it to take the black paint off the hubcap BowTie, the hubcap centers do not appear to have a gold hue.

        We'll have to have others report back in with the Serial Numbers to see of there is/are any time lines.

        Another though is that new GM hubcaps or hubcaps from low mileage cars might reflect the light from the circular grooves of the center piece back to our eyes to give that golden hue.

        BTW, I would put the original ones on the car but it your car, so it's your call.
