I know this question has been kicked around before. I also know that Chevrolet did not keep records. What I am trying to figure out how many roadster's in 65 were made with certain colors and options and the # that were built. I have mine narrowed down by using differant book's but not close enough to suit me. Any idea's. Tom

That's not possible except by progressive extrapolation of the known individual percentages, which is wildly inaccurate. Trying to figure out "1 of XXX" is an exercise in futility.- Top

Yes, I think the registry is showing yours as 1 of (whatever number like yours they have registered so far). As people add cars, that will change. The won't get all the 1960's listed, so we'll not know until GM discovers the real records.https://MichiganNCRS.org

Tom, %'s of %'s of %'s are not valid calculations as John indicates. You need real numbers to work with and they aren't available, unfortunately.

Re: Quanity built ??
As proof of the futility probably the rarest Corvettes are those that were ordered with absolutely NO options- nothing, zip, nada, not even a radio.
Statistically though, there should be thousands of each and every colour.- Top

Tom -- here's an exercise I did way back in the mid-80's. It's a complete flip of the "how rare ?" angle, which I see most of the respondents automatically assumed you were after.
I did an estimation of the MOST COMMON 1966 Corvette one could order. I chose '66 because Chev gave us a figure for black vinyl interiors [the most common] in one of the contemporary Corvette News issues.
And this is it: a Nassau blue convertible, 300hp, white top, black vinyl interior, AM/FM, whitewall tires, 4-speed trans. I stopped at a total of 8 order form choices. One could continue selecting the more exotic RPO's, but if the buyer could afford no more, then by the end of 1966 model year production, there would have been 205 such cars produced with these same colors, body style and options. (say, give or take a couple of cars to compensate for the proportionalities assumed [not many, and all of high statistical certainty, given the large sample size {ie. most common, remember ?}].
So any other selections would result in fewer than 205 total. The figures for 1965 should be similar (+/- a larger spread). I am now donning my asbestos suit.

That is a pretty good story. I would never have geussed that many blue's with black interior. My favorite in the blue is a blue / white combination or all blue. My 65 has everything but power brakes which I find odd? It is white with the optional red interior. I just can't figure someone ordering this car loaded up but standard brakes? Tom- Top
