TPMS reset C6

Does anyone know if the Tire Pressure Monitoring System on a 2008 C6 can be reset with by deflating the tires while in the system is in learn mode ? Has anyone been able to reset using the magnet approach like for C4's and C5's ? I have heard early C6's can be reset this way but not later ones.

I plan to by a reset tool if needed but the one I want (Ateq VT10) is sold out everywhere.

As I understand it you can not use the "Magnet" system to reset the monitors. You have to use a special tool like the dealers use.

The manufacturer's web site states "ATEQ's VT10 is a universal TPMS sensor activator. It is means that it is compatible with all currently known TPMS sensors on the planet and has a unique one button interface."

I bought mine from the Corvette Guys for $110 with free shipping.

They have it in stock while the Tire Rack is backordered until 5/1.

I used the tool today and it worked great. Took just a few minutes. I highly recommend it.
