    Windshield Post Replacement

Four years ago I replaced the dash pad on my 60' Vette. Now I am replacing the Windshield, Windshield Post and Windshield Surround with rechromed and polished replacement hardware. The windshield company in now telling me that I will also again need to replace the dash pad because it will be damaged when the windshield frame is removed. Could I have some technical information regarding this process and what to expect?

Removing the windshield assembly should have no impact/damage on your dash pad as there may be only a small/thin border of the dash pad from which the foam has been removed underneath the assembly.

Unless the windshield company screws up the dash pad it should not have to be replaced.
Since you previously replaced the dash pad why not do the windshield yourself. Very good instructions in the ST-12.
I would rather do a windshield then replace a damn dash pad.
