67 coupe windshield weatherstripping & tips

I have a repo windshield ordered and am getting ready to pull the old one. Planning on new clips and new rubber. Is an acceptable reproduction rubber available?
How about any windshield installation tips? Including the trim?
    Thanks!!!

unless the repo clips have changed , clean up the old ones and reuse, you won't have any problems with the rubber, i have had some issues with ppg and lof [ plinkington ] repo windshields being oversized and not allowing the trim to be reinstalled requiring grinding of the glass, measure and compare, use professional help if needed

      Jim,
Dougs right, the repo clips are pretty lousy compared to the originals. Try to save as many of them as possible.

        Jim,
When I replaced the rubber surround seal on my 67 several years ago, i picked up a bunch of the clips from, of all places Chicago Corvette, and they were spot on. I have no idea if that is still the case and I would never order from them if I could not pick them up at the sales counter.

I tried using the original clips and tried bending them a little to get them back to their original shape and they broke in half. Don't buy the clips from Corvette Central; they are made in Taiwan and aren't even close to the originals and they don't work either. I got a set of 11 clips from Paragon, which are made in the USA and they worked perfectly. Not an easy job. PT

We retested these clips based on a comment here. We mounted them and checked for fitment, and performed a pull test on them to test durability. No issues. If anyone else has had problems with these clips, please let us know.

the problem i have always had with the repo clips was that when you try to install the trim they are sharp and catch and crack, we all know that you then need to take the windshield back out to fix the issue, maybe the repo's have changed, but not to my knowledge

Thanks for checking on this, Scott. It's nice to hear from vendors.
