    Richmond NASCAR race

Our Corvette club did the driver intros at the race last night. What a blast!!! I had Robby Gordon. Nice guy and he even complimented the car. We had to hook up a few of the 60's with the old water bottle on the over flow tube trick, but all went well.

chevy used to truck in brand new corvettes for the drivers but since the bankruptcy i guess they had to cut back.

I don't think it is as much cutting back, as giving the "club" the opportunity to get involved and "show off" their cars. I have been to races since the bankruptcy and they still have "new" cars for driver intros at the majority of the races. It looks like it was a great chance to meet and greet some of the drivers, and I commend the race promoters for offering the opportunity to the Corvette guys. Jeff, looks like you had a great time, THANKS FOR SHARING!!! I too, think Robby Gordon is a "nice" guy and a real racer. I would love to see him win a few more races.

I agree about the opportunity to show off the cars. It was really nice hearing all of the fans ask what year it was or make a comment about the car. I loved where a guy asked me what year it was, I told him and his girlfriend punched him and said "I told you". Course, she was probably more sober and saw that my plates were 1972 Virginia plates!!!
