Re: Finding cars history ?
Tom, I am also in the process of tracing the history of my vehicle. You can start with the person you bought from and work your way back through the line of previous owners. Or, as was my case, the seller was reluctant to disclose the person he aquired it from and I had to request a "title search" from the Motor Vehicles Depatment. This is usually only good for about the past 10 years but will help in getting you started. KEEP IN MIND, this is priviledged information and you will need to be tactful in your approach to the previous owners. Some may be willing to assist, others may not. As important as this information is to us, and the fact that it will vanish as a previous owner passes, you have to develope an approach that is going to make them feel comfortable with the idea of talking to a stranger. Good luck, Mike- Top

Tom
The state of Fla. goes back 13 yrs. This was back in 1999. May have changed since then. They will give all Fla. registrations for the last 13 yrs.
I got lucky the state of NC goes back to the first NC registration.
Once you get that info. hit some of the American Legions and VFW's and talk to the oldtimers. I did in Concord, NC and got a ton of info. I also got the name and met the gentleman that sold my 65 new.
Good Luck....JT- Top
